Church & Divine Liturgy
The church is a holy place; the House of God. The Divine Liturgy is the main religious service of the Orthodox Church. Going to church allows us to participate in the miracle of the Divine Liturgy, when the heavenly come down to earth and the earthly go toward Heaven.
Saints & Church Feasts
Church Feasts are based on events in the lives of Jesus Christ, the Mother of God, the saints, and sacred moments in the life of the church. They serve as a model of Christian life. When we participate in these Feast days, we receive the same blessing as did those who lived at Christ’s time. (The Gregorian calendar is used here; according to the Julian calendar, the fixed Feast days are celebrated 13 days later.)
